Stuber provided typical elements that I deal with in many films. Paperwork is a huge thing. Every business, office and facility needs specific paperwork. Since it is not sexy I will not show any here. Police stations are always a challenge. Shields, maps, certificates etc. are needed to solidify that this is a place where people spend a great deal of time. Maps are tricky as they are copyrighted and it is usually less trouble to make them than try to get permission to use an existing map.

This project did allow me to have alot of fun though, in the form of promotional pieces for a male strip club (The Sizzle Room) These were some of the most widely discussed posters I have ever done. The sriracha factory was also quite fun.

The detail needed in map making can be intimidating and fooling an audience can be difficult. I like to add age to my pieces digitally so that I can control the final look. This helps give them that lived-in look.

Often times I am asked to create designs done in a foreign language. The asian languages are particularly difficult. It is important that what you write is correct, relevant to the scene and not percieved as inapproriate to native speakers.

Posters are always a fun way to add a lot of texture and complexity to a film set. As these posters show,   there is always room to add humor while keeping in within the tone of the scene and the overall film.

These things should add texture without drawing too much attention... unless they are meant to.

Often I get to add a little humor naming publications. The LA Tattler is a favorite.

Stuber is a film that I did not do from the beginning. I was brought in a few weeks into preproduction. Once I got dialed in the show got much easier. I met great professionals on this show and have worked with them on several projects since.
