MASCOTS
Mascots are slightly different than logos in that they are meant to illustrate the spirit of a school or organization. I was fortunate enough to be asked to create a family of mascots for the Council Bluffs, Iowa school district. This was a comprehensive vision meant to give the mascots a uniform look from Elementary through to High School. I have also created fictional mascots for my work on motion pictures.
Longfellow Middle
CB MIDDLE SCHOOL
The Lion here is meant evoke the visage of Henry Longfellow, the stoic namesake of the school.
Jefferson HS
CB HIGH SCHOOL E SPORTS TEAM
The CB schools are serious about E Sports. Each of the High Schools needed a mascot to tie into the broader brand. In this case a yellowjacket.
Lincoln HS
CB HIGH SCHOOL E SPORTS TEAM
The Lincoln E Sports mascot has a lettertype driven style. The school liked the strong font and nested text.
Edison Elementary

The Edison mascot is an attempt to capture the spirit and forward thinking of Thomas Edison.

The family of Elementary schools that feed into Jefferson HS needed to have the Jackets vibe while retaining an innocent look.

This was a fun project for a unique group. They wanted the black squirrel native to the area as the mascot.

The design team for the film wanted a strong academic style mascot for Ruby Bridges HS.
